Lenten Schedule 2025 – St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Prineville

As we prepare our hearts for the season of Lent, we invite you to join us at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prineville for a time of prayer, reflection, and renewal. Lent is a sacred period of fasting, penance, and preparation for the resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. Below is our Lenten schedule for 2025, offering many opportunities to deepen your faith and journey with Christ.


Fridays, March 7 – April 11: Stations of the Cross & Soup Supper

Every Friday at 6 p.m., from March 7th through April 11th, we will gather to pray the Stations of the Cross, reflecting on Christ’s journey to Calvary. Afterward, we invite you to join us for a Soup Supper in the Parish Hall, fostering fellowship and community.

March 26: Lenten Penance Service

On Wednesday, March 26th, at 6 p.m., we will hold a Lenten Penance Service, offering the opportunity for confession and reconciliation. This is a beautiful way to cleanse our hearts and prepare spiritually for the joy of Easter.

April 10: Chrism Mass in Baker City

The Chrism Mass will take place on Thursday, April 10th, at 11 a.m. in Baker City. During this Mass, the bishop blesses the sacred oils used in sacraments throughout the year. All are encouraged to attend this meaningful diocesan celebration.

April 13: Palm Sunday

We begin Holy Week with the celebration of Palm Sunday on April 13th.

  • Mass at 9 a.m.
  • Spanish Mass at 12 p.m.

Join us as we commemorate Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, marking the beginning of His Passion.


Holy Week Liturgies

April 17: Holy Thursday

On Holy Thursday, April 17th, Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m., remembering the institution of the Eucharist and Christ’s commandment to love and serve one another.

April 18: Good Friday

On Good Friday, April 18th, we solemnly recall Christ’s Passion and death on the cross:

  • Way of the Cross: 3 p.m.
  • Passion Service & Veneration of the Cross: 6 p.m.

This is a time of deep reflection, fasting, and prayer as we honor the sacrifice of our Lord.

April 19: Holy Saturday

On Holy Saturday, April 19th, we will celebrate the Easter Vigil Mass at 7 p.m., the most sacred night of the liturgical year. This Mass marks the resurrection of Christ, bringing light into the darkness.

April 20: Easter Sunday

We joyfully celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20th:

  • Mass at 9 a.m.
  • Spanish Mass at 12 p.m.
